SERVICES

Bonum Safety can provide a wide range of health and safety services for your organisation as part of your ongoing health and Safety management system or as a one off adhoc service for your organisation. The main services we provide are detailed below however, please get in touch to discuss your individual requirements.

Fire Risk Assessment
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO), the responsible person for the premises must carry out or appoint a competent person to carry out a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment. This will identify what action is needed to prevent fire and keep people safe. The responsible person must record the significant findings of the fire risk assessment where 5 or more people are employed.
Fire Safety Management Service
A fire safety management plan details your arrangements to implement, control, monitor and review fire safety standards and to ensure those standards are maintained. The plan describes the arrangements for effectively managing fire safety so as to prevent fire occurring and, in the event of fire, to protect people and property.
Health and Safety Inspection and Audits
The health and safety needs of a business can change over time, so it is important that inspections and audits are carried out to ensure the continued welfare, health and safety of employees and visitors is maintained. An inspection or audit will identify any improvements required, help companies to comply with their legal duties and help promote a positive health and safety culture within the organisation.
Construction Phase Plan Assistance
Bonum Safety can assist the Principal Contractor/ Contractors in the preparation of construction phase plans as required on a one off or regular basis. The construction phase plan must record the arrangements for managing the significant health and safety risks associated with the construction phase of a project, to be effective the plan must be developed as construction work proceeds.
Construction Risk Assessments
A risk assessment is not about creating huge amounts of paperwork, but rather about identifying sensible measures to control the risks in your workplace. Your business is probably already taking steps to protect employees, but the risk assessment will help decide whether all risks have been covered to the correct extent.
Construction Method Statements
Following suitable and sufficient risk assessments, appropriate method statements set out the details on how the site work will be carried out in a safe and secure manner. Bonum Safety can work with you to prepare easy to follow method statements for all the activities your business carries out.
Construction Site Inspections and Audits
Inspections and audits provide reassurance to the clients, contractors and the work force that the construction work on the project is being carried out in accordance with legal and best practice requirements. Following any inspection or audit completed for you a report would be provided highlighting areas of good practice as well as details on any shortfalls. A detailed action plan highlighting any deficiencies would also be provided.
COSHH Assessments
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) require employers to assess the risk to their employees, and to prevent or adequately control those risks. If you have five or more employees, you must record your assessment but, even if you have fewer than five, it makes sense to write down what steps you have taken to identify the risks. Every year, thousands of workers are made ill by hazardous substances, contracting lung disease such as asthma, cancer and skin disease such as dermatitis. Bonum Safety can work with you to prepare easy to read and understand COSHH assessments for all the hazardous substances your business use.
Hand/Arm Vibration Assessment
If there is likely to be a risk to your employees from using vibrating hand tools an assessment needs to identify who is at risk and to what degree. The risk assessment needs to enable you to decide whether your employees' exposures are likely to be above the exposure action value (EAV) or the exposure limit value (ELV) and to identify which work activities you need to control. Bonum safety can assess your workplace and carry out a hand and arm vibration assessment.
Accident Investigations
Every year people are killed or injured at work. Over 40 million working days are lost annually through work-related accidents and illnesses. Bonum Safety can provide an effective investigation with a methodical, structured approach to information gathering, collation and analysis. The findings of the investigation will form the basis of an action plan to prevent the accident or incident from happening again and for improving the overall management of risk. Bonum safety can assess your workplace and carry out accident investigations for your organisation or support in completing accident investigation.
Face Fit Testing
Respiratory Protection Equipment (RPE) must be able to provide adequate protection for individual wearers. RPE can't protect the wearer if it leaks. A major cause of leaks is poor fit so fit testing will ensure that the equipment selected is suitable for the wearer. Bonum Safety can assess your workplace and carry out Qualitative face fit tests for your employees.
